version control

one would think that a key element of versioning control is the ability to save. that’s right, save. i’m not talking about fancy schmancy features like concurrent access, merging versions, etc. etc. i’m just talking about the ability to save something. i mean, that IS the point of using version control right? to SAVE something???

pissed because i had to come in today on saturday in order to get some work done. i couldn’t do it at home because dumb versioning control kept crashing when i was working remotely. came in this afternoon thinking i’m almost done with one thing and really can finish in a few hours….

‘CEPT THE THING THAT I WAS ALMOST DONE WITH IS GONE. FUCKING VERSION CONTROL LOST MY LATEST VERSION WITH ALL THE CHANGES.

THANKS VERSION CONTROL SYSTEM!!!!

too friendly security guards?

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

so in my old building, the security guard was really, really rude. i think i posted before on my xanga about how he accused me of stealing his temp badge (uh no, i don’t really care for it) and he asked me why i forgot my badge “again”… even tho it had been months since i last forgot it. (though, understandably, i did have a stretch of time where i did forget my badge quite often) also, i heard he called up a friend of mine who also works for the company and accused him of stealing a temp badge… wow, such tenacity chasing after would-be badge stealers!!

anyhoo… since moving to my new building, the security guards have been reaaally friendly. almost, too friendly. so it started around the christmas potluck. i ran out to buy my contribution to the party, ice cream. i guess it was because it was snowing and i came in with 3 tubs of ice cream that they first noticed me. anyways, they actually talked to me a few times off and on. then, a couple of weeks ago, one of them asked me what my name was. he then introduced himself and the other guard. that’s pretty nice i guess, he’s a pretty friendly guy!

but more recently, he’s kind of been scaring me now!! once he asked me why i didnt say hi anymore! well, i never always said hi to them anyways because some mornings, i’m just not awake enough. and i’m also a really shy person so that if they look busy or appear to be looking somewhere else, i’m not one to yell a loud HELLO to get their attention! on tuesday, coming back from grabbing lunch, i was in the elevator as the doors closed when i saw him walk by… and HE WAS LOOKING RIGHT THROUGH THE CRACK OF THE CLOSING ELEVATOR DOORS RIGHT AT ME WITH A SMILE!!! weird!!

finally, this morning, as i came in through the 2nd double door (they are glass so i guess he could see me, through since it’s darker inside, i couldn’t really see who was in there… nor was i really trying to!)… he said hi crystal! i was so startled, i even asked him how he saw me coming!! it was really freaky!

i love you egg

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

i’m sure i must have posted this before and i have it somewhere on this webpage along with other silly things that amuse my simple mind but…

i love you egg!

heheheheh, there are just some things that make me happy. no explanation why. for example, george? he makes me giddy to the point of giggling. shuddup, you know he makes you feel like that too. anyhoo….

i don’t like eggs. i used to love them. but i ate too many when i was a kid (my mom says i used to eat at least 2 eggs a day… some times i would eat just eggs all day). but even tho i don’t share these eggs’ passion for themselves (hrm… that is somewhat disturbing i suppose), i love this video.

i’m also amused by what nicole said when i showed it to her: “tell me that isn’t the gayest thing ever. im fascinated and revolted by that song at the same time”
