monkey nonsense

some little things that made me happy/laugh this week:

• first! to use the toilet after the cleaners came through. i like coming into a stall in the women’s room and having to put the toilet seat down because it means no one else has used the toilet yet! … that, or i’ve accidentally gone into the men’s room.
• talking with a coworker about something only to have the conversation suddenly interrupted with “oh no he isn’t! he’s peeing!!!”… my office window faces the back alley. someone is always watching…
• breaking into a friend’s gated community because i didn’t have my cell phone to call her to let me in. it was kind of fun actually… i know, i’m a big thrill chaser.
• finally utilizing the power of facebook and posting funny pictures of other people… why i didn’t do this earlier, i do not know. looking at old pictures was quite amusing.
• youtube videos –
  some guy doing a cover of toxic on the acoustic guitar: this is amusing not because its an acoustic guitar (because dude, i want to learn how to play this on the acoustic!), but because it’s a guy singing toxic.
  novak djokovic imitating other tennis players: started watching the us open with my dad one weekend and watched this guy play… i liked him! then later on in the week, i watched another one of his matches where afterwards, he imitated maria sharapova and rafael nadal. he’s my new favorite tennis player now… i hope he beats federer so that federer doesn’t beat my all-time favorite tennis player sampras’ grand slam record (not likely )

the summer’s over. man, that went by quickly! i haven’t posted much recently so i thought i’d post everything in one gimongous post!

i moved. again. this time to a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment right by tysons II. i live with ann, a chinese school friend i grew up with who lived with changer banger in texas while in grad school. she is quite weird. i am getting used to her weirdness. once i get home, i’ll post a picture of what she does in her free time at home… it’s rather cute.

it seems i run off my old roommates. since college, 75% of my former roommates have married/gotten engaged. 75% of them have moved to the NYC area. i ran off the last one a couple of weeks back. i’ve replaced her with a stuffed giraffe. at first, i wanted to name the giraffe tina to make fun of tina (the roommate) because the giraffe looks rather goofy and awkward… but then i thought it also looked rather masculine… which just seemed mean to call it tina. but ann has commented that she does look rather feminine (though goofy) so i guess tina can be an appropriate name for it. once i get home, i’ll post pictures of our tina replacement. really, there’s no difference.

we’re slowly setting up our apartment and hope to have a “housewarming” party to play games and hang out some time soon. in setting up the apartment, we’ve found a prominent place for the 9184918948149184791 pound roll of foil i bought in 2004 (see below picture for the purpose of its purchase). i hope to use it up. in previous apartments, it got stashed away in a high-up shelf where it got lost and never got used. this 9184918948149184791 pound roll has outlasted 4 roommates and numerous apartments.

i’ve eaten lots of crabs. yum. crabs.

i knocked off a few items on my 101 things to do. though i’m seriously thinking about extending how long i have to do it… i know i won’t be able to accomplish some of these tasks in time! seriously… Go to bed before midnight every day for a week? Check voicemail every day for a week? those are gonna take awhile to accomplish! things i have been able to knock off my list:

Go camping, campfire smores and all

Go fishing/crabbing

Light fireworks

finally… i BEAT julie at desktop tower defense!!!!! woo!!
